Tanya Bell-Jenje received her BSc Physio from UCT in 1987 and her MSc from WITS in 2000. She is a founding partner of Bell Harvey & Rogers Physiotherapy Practice since 1989.

Tanya has been involved in Sport at a National level for many years. This included Physio for the National Ladies Hockey Team for 7 years & National Squash since the 1990’s. She is currently (2007/8) on the EXCO committee for Squash SA. She was part of the South African Medical Team at the Commonwealth Games in 1998, the All Africa Games in 1999 and the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. She was physiotherapist (1996-2003) for the South African National Cricket Academy and is involved in pre-habilitation of the elite cricketer. This research was presented at the World Congress of Science & Medicine in Cricket in 2003 as well as IFOMPT in 2004, and published in the SAJSM in 2005. In 2003 she spent some time in Amsterdam working with many of the world’s top men & ladies squash professionals to identify injury risk factors, prevent injury and enhance player performance. Correction of biomechanical dysfunction to improve overall posture and alignment, self-esteem and sports performance in the adolescent is one of her primary interests.

Tanya is a senior lecturer and examiner on the Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) course and the SPT1 course. She is an Honorary lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and is involved in the Masters physiotherapy program. She has lectured at various orthopaedic congresses and has presented numerous one and two-day workshops on different topics pertaining to Sport and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy both locally in South Africa, in the United Kingdom, Middle East and in the USA.

Medical Negligence litigation is showing a steady increase in South Africa and personal injury lawyers are looking at this branch of law with more interest.
