Johann Roux obtained his LLB-degree at Stellenbosch University in 2004 and was appointed as a junior lecturer at the Stellenbosch Private Law Department.

He was a panel member on the Stellenbosch University Central Disciplinary Committee in 2005 and completed his articles of clerkship at a leading Personal Injury Law Firm in Cape Town. He is currently practicing as a specialist medical law attorney at Macrobert Attorneys, a firm specializing in Defendant work on behalf of medical practitioners. He also has the Right of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa and has represented clients in high profile cases.

Johann has a keen interest in Medical Law and has completed the Certificate in Medical Law presented by UNISA/University of Pretoria. He has presented courses on medical law and ethics to various medical professions at venues throughout South Africa.
