HELEN SIMPSON

Helene Simpson graduated from the University of the Orange Free State in 1984 with a BSc Physiotherapy, from the University of Pretoria in 1987 with a Higher Diploma of Education and from the University of Cape Town with a BSc (Med) (Hons) Sports Science in 1990.

She is the founding owner of Helene Simpson Physiotherapy at The University of Cape Town Sport Injuries Cinic and has been involved in all forms of sport at UCT since the early 90's.

She is currnetly the coordinator for physio services for the Cape Argus Cycle race and the Two Oceans marathon.

Helene has attended many post graduate physio and sports medicine courses and has presented her Foot and Ankle course for Physios throughout South Africa since 2007.

She is a contributory lecturer for the Sports Physiotherapy 1 (SPT1) Post Graduate course programme and has also lectured on the MPhil course at UCT and the Masters programme on Ankle Rehabilitation and Management at the University of Stellenbosch. She has also coordinated the SPT1 programme since 1994 and has acted as an Examiner on both the Mphil and SPT1 courses.
